During the survey we found these problems although the boat was "Ready to go" according to the advertisement. 1. A rusty anchor shackle 2. The electric windless had a stuck clutch which prevented manually lowering or raising the anchor. 3. Rusty anchor and some rust on the chain. 4. Noisy steering and slack steering cables as well as chafing cables. 5. Raymarine MFD model C90W was had bad buttons. 6. The AIS was poorly installed. 7. The VHF radio was faulty 8. The head overboard seacock was jammed open. 9. The Jabsco head pump was leaking. 10. The front cover of the stack pack was not installed because the zippers did not match. 11. The life raft required certification.

We purchased a 2011 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i in September 2018. The boat was lightly used and very basically maintained for the previous 2 years but had been a Sunsail charter boat out of Greece for the first 5 years of its life. Knowing that the boat had been in charter service at a well known and tier one charter company we expected wear but good maintenance. The 36i has excellent reviews as a racer cruiser with exceptional performance as well as being spacious. Our personal survey revealed poor maintenance and some issues.
